BOOKING

  • All appointments at our Jersey City tattoo studio are scheduled through our online inquiry form. Please include:

    • Placement

    • Approximate size

    • Reference images

    • Clear photos of the placement

    • A short description of your idea

    Even if you only have a concept, describe it, and we will design the artwork for you. Every tattoo at Chroma Studio is custom-created to complement your anatomy and vision.

  • Please allow 3-5 business days for a reply. Each inquiry is reviewed carefully to ensure we can properly assess your project.

    If you are looking for a smaller tattoo in Jersey City, you may call or text the studio for availability. We may be able to accommodate quicker bookings depending on the schedule.

  • Chroma studio operates by appointment only to maintain a private, focused experience. Occasionally, same0day availability may be announced on our Instagram page: @chromastudio.jc.

  • We recommend booking 1-3 months in advance, especially for larger-scale custom tattoos such as sleeves or back pieces.

PRICING

  • Our shop minimum is $200.

    For larger scale tattoos, we offer full-day sessions.

    A full-day session includes design development, consultation, and approximately 6-8 hours of tattoing time. Rates are discussed after reviewing your project to ensure accurate pricing.

  • Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment at our studio. The deposit is applied toward your final session.

  • We require at least 73 hours notice to transfer your deposit. Cancellations or rescheduling within 72 hours will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

DESIGN PROCESS

  • We welcome reference images and inspiration. However, we do not copy other artists’ work. As a custom tattoo studio in Jersey City, every piece is uniquely designed to flow naturally with your body.

  • Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment at our studio. The deposit is applied toward your final session.

  • Designs are presented on the day of your appointment. This allows for final refinements based on anatomy, placement, and flow. Minor adjustments can be made during your consultation time.

  • Small refinements are welcome. Major concept changes may require rescheduling to allow proper redesign.

  • Yes, depending on the existing tattoo. Clear photos are required for evaluation before booking.

PREPARATION

  • For the best experience and healing results:

    • Eat a full meal beforehand

    • Stay hydrated

    • Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior

    • Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the tattoo area

    • Bring snacks if scheduled for a full-day session

    Proper preparation significantly improves comfort and endurance.

  • To preserve a calm, luxury studio environment, we limit guests. Please inquire in advance if you wish to bring someone.

  • If you are considering numbing products, please inform us beforehand. For full-day sessions, numbing creams are generally not recommended. They typically wear off within 1-3 hours and may increase sensitivity once the effect fades.

PAIN, SAFETY & HYGEINE

  • Pain varies depending on placement and individual tolerance. Areas over bone tend to be more sensitive. Most clients describe the sensation as manageable and rhythmic.

  • A full-sleeve tattoo typically requires 5-15 sessions, depending on size, complexity, detail, and color saturation. Proper healing time between sessions is essential.

  • Yes, Chroma Studio is a licensed tattoo studio in Jersey City, NJ, operating in full compliance with local health department regulations.

  • Client safety is non-negotiable. We maintain strict infection control standards, including:

    • Single-use sterile cartridges

    • Disposable barriers and supplies

    • Medical-grade disinfectants

    • All artists are licensed in NJ and certified in BBP/CPR

    We follow professional sanitation protocols at all times.

AFTERCARE

  • Surface healing typically takes 2-3 weeks. Full healing may take 4-6 weeks, depending on the individual.

  • Each artist may tailor aftercare instructions depending on the style and technique used. A successful tattoo is a collaboration. Once the artist completes the work, proper healing is equally important.

    If second skin is applied:

    • Keep it on for 3-5 days

    • Remove in the shower under lukewarm water

    • Wash gently with unscented liquid antibacterial soap

    • Do not use washcloths or loofahs

    • Adhesive residue may be removed gently with oil (coconut, baby, or olive oil)

    If the bandage leaks before the recommended time, remove it and follow the cleaning instructions immediately.

    Additional guidelines:

    • Keep the tattoo clean

    • Avoid tight clothing

    • Apply a thin layer of the recommended ointment

    • Do not scratch or peel

    • Light patting or washing can help relieve itchiness

    • Aloe vera gel may be used for soothing

    Avoid soaking, swimming, heavy sweating, and sun exposure for 3-4 weeks. Healing varies by individual.

  • Light activity may resume after several days. Avoid heavy sweating or friction on the tattooed area for 1-2 weeks.

    Avoid pools, oceans, or hot tubs for at least 3-4 weeks.

  • Touch-ups are assessed individually within an appropriate healing window. Please consult your artist directly.
